Notice for Purchase

1.The domes for Philips that we sell are official genuine products, not imitations, so the price is higher compared to counterfeit products.

2.We strongly recommend that you measure to get the right size before placing an order. You can place your existing dome on a ruler to measure it.

3.If you are unsure about the size you need, we recommend purchasing a mixed size pack (2 Domes for each specification). After that, you can determine the correct size you need for future purchases.

Type Differences

Type Seal Level Low-Frequency Gain (Bass) Occlusion Effect Suitable Degree of Hearing Loss
Open Lowest Weakest Almost none Mild (mainly high-frequency loss)
Open Bass Relatively low Relatively weak Very slight Mild to moderate
Bass Single Vent Relatively high Strong Relatively strong Moderate to severe
Bass Double Vent Medium Relatively strong Moderate Moderate
Power Highest Strongest Significant Severe

Explain the differences in detail

Open

Features: There are multiple visible ventilation holes on the dome, providing the strongest ventilation.

Sound Quality: It allows natural sound to enter the ear canal, making the sound very natural with almost no “occlusion effect”.

Suitable For: Suitable for users with high-frequency hearing loss but relatively good low-frequency hearing (usually within 40 dB).

Disadvantages: It can easily cause low-frequency energy leakage and may lead to feedback when the volume is turned up.

Open Bass

Features: The structure is similar to petals. Although it is labeled “open”, the design fine-tunes the ventilation holes to increase low-frequency gain.

Sound Quality: While maintaining an open and natural feel, it provides better low-frequency support than a traditional Open Dome, resulting in fuller sound.

Suitable For: Suitable for users who want the comfort of an open fit but prefer slightly stronger bass.

Disadvantages: Although it is somewhat better than a pure Open Dome, under high gain (high volume) the sound can still easily leak from the ear canal and cause feedback.

Bass Single Vent

Features: The dome is relatively sealed, with only a small ventilation hole.

Sound Quality: It significantly enhances low-frequency sound quality, making the sound more powerful. Because the ventilation hole is smaller, users may begin to feel a certain degree of “occlusion effect”.

Suitable For: Suitable for users with moderate hearing loss who require more low-frequency compensation.

Disadvantages: Because the ventilation hole is very small, there will be a noticeable “plugged” feeling when wearing it.

Bass Double Vent

Features: The structure is similar to the single-vent type, but it has two small ventilation holes.

Sound Quality: The ventilation is slightly better than the single-vent version, balancing bass performance and wearing comfort. It can slightly reduce the feeling of “speaking as if in a barrel”.

Suitable For: Suitable for users who need low-frequency gain but are sensitive to the occlusion effect.

Disadvantages: Compared with the single-vent version, it alleviates the occlusion feeling by increasing ventilation, but the trade-off is sacrificing part of the low-frequency gain.

Power

Features: It has a double-layer umbrella design that almost completely seals the ear canal, with no ventilation holes.

Sound Quality: It provides the highest sound pressure and the greatest low-frequency boost, effectively preventing feedback. The sound usually feels rather “muffled” and less natural.

Suitable For: Suitable for users with severe or profound hearing loss.

Disadvantages: When first worn, it often feels extremely blocked and requires a long adaptation period. The complete seal prevents air circulation in the ear canal, which can easily lead to the buildup of moisture and heat, increasing the risk of ear canal inflammation. The sound quality also lacks a natural feel.
